Book Description

He's coming up on her blind side

How can Shelby Hawkley forgive Gage Jamero for bailing on her when she needed him most? He and her husband, Nick, were the best part of her life.

Now her former best friend is back, shaking up the widowed wine harvester's world. The safest bet is to protect herself. Except Gage is awakening feelings that are decidedly unfriend-like.

Shelby is the woman Gage has secretly loved since high school. Starting over—together—could be the best dream he's ever had. If only he can find the courage to say what he should have said all those years ago.

Book Review

Shelby is a young widow who lost not only her husband, Nick,in a rafting accident, but also her best friend Gage. Gage feels guilty for having not been there and stopping Nick from going on the rafting trip. He also has nursed a crush for Shelby since high school, but since his best friend asked her first, Shelby was his girl friend and subsequently wife. And no guy moves in on his best friend's girl as per their code of honor. What happens when the friend dies and leaves behind a young widow?

Shelby is obsessed with being safe, and Gage is a vet with a dangerous specialization. Delivering horses leaves him open to all kinds of physical danger that Shelby does not want to deal with. Gage knows that to be with Shelby he will have to give up his dreams and come back to Harmony Valley where he will never amount to anything more than a small town vet. Is their love strong enough to take a chance on? Or do these friends drift apart again? Find out when you read the beautifully scripted story in this book.
