Book Review

A group of high school kids who can do magic and are descended from the Olympian Gods. Of course Nicole the new comer has no idea that she is a witch, and everyone else is surprised at how quickly she picks up all the nuances. When the Olympian Comet rolls by and her group of friends suddenly have much stronger powers, they need to test them on monsters who need to be banished back to the dimension of hell they are escaping from. Yes, there's the romantic angle, but the action is constantly on and the pace of the book is superb. Leaves you wanting to read the sequel.

Jenna has always worked hard to keep everything in her life perfect, maybe then they could have the perfect family life. Unfortunately with a father battling cancer, a mother who handles depression by drinking, an elder brother who is working too hard even as a teenager and an elder sister who is working hard to put her through dance school, she is just too busy pleasing everyone but herself.

Perhaps the private guest in her mom's Bed and Breakfast is the guys who can change it all for her. i love the misunderstanding about his profession. The story is beautifully written and a fitting end to this musical series.

Book Review

After Snow Dance, I was pretty much ready to hate Tanya for the way she acted around Parker. I was also hoping he'd find someone nice who actually appreciated the gem they had. So I was not expecting Tanya to come home and I was definitely not expecting her feelings for Parker to ring true. The story did an incredible job of sorting out the muddles the two of them had created for their relationship. Now I'm happy Tanya's changed and Parker is getting his HEA.

John Norman is the local doctor who decides that Lucy is in need of psychiatric help and brings in his pal Dr. Andrews. Eventually they do decide to figure out what to do, but will the actions on the Vicarage bench be enough to bring Jenna back to her time? Or is she going to be stuck in the past wishing things could be different.

Nik is shocked to learn that he has a brother. Max equally so. When there mother is confronted they learn that she has believed him to be dead all these years. Before Nik can get used to having a family, Max gets into trouble. Now Nik needs to solve the crime that nearly killed Max by taking on his identity. Unfortunately he's dealing with a host of problems all his own.

When Maya, Max's partner comes face to face with Nik and assumes him to be the missing Max, she's confused. She's sure he's not Max, but then who could he be? As they fight side by side to bust a human trafficking ring, she's happy to have him along for the rather rough ride. Of course there's some other colourful characters floating around the story including Nik's tail who seems to appear and disappear whenever really needed.

There is a constant stream of action through the novel that makes you want to race and finish it. Really good book in a very good series.

Book Review

Finn is about done with his boss blackmailing him in to taking on another mission, but then his father convinces him that it needs to be done. He's keen on finishing this one last job and handing in his badge. He's not expecting to meet the love of his life when she wanders into the pub he owns to play his undercover wife.

Renee has lost her father in what the world believed is a suicide, but as New York's finest, she has enough skills and evidence to prove that it was foul play. Trouble is no one else wants to believe her. That's when she realizes that if anyone will solve this case, it will be her. She just has the matter of one college rapist to solve before that.

I love the characters that Mimi writes. Finn is a dependable and solid man, who tries really hard not to take over when Renee is in danger trusting her to do her job well. Renee is a complex little thing who has been through more than one hardship in life and is still fighting everything, in disguise. I enjoyed her wigs and contact lenses almost as much as I saw her vulnerability in exposing the real Renee to Finn. Beautifully written.

Book Review

Sasha's story is absolutely as brilliant as the rest of the City Shifters books. The author explores the Russian with a past beautifully and the love of his life is strong enough to be a hero in her own right. Sunny ( I love her actual name Sunshine) is literally on a mission to save women in abusive situations. 

This is one time she knows that she will need help to save the family of an abusive cop. So she asks a police detective friend for help and it arrives in the form of a bear shifter, Sasha. His need to protect his mate is over run by his admiration of what she manages to do for these abused women. Still when she's kidnapped, there isn't anything he won't do to free her.

I received the book as a gift from the author in exchange for my honest opinion. And my honest opinion is that if you have not read this entire series as yet, you need to get cracking right away.

Book Review

This is a book I've been wanting to read for a really long time. I went through the Vegas Series, of which this one is the spin off in one night. The books had me hooked and yes I was really keen about meeting Ham's daughter. Unfortunately Francesca proved really elusive. Anyhow, we finally got our ducks in a row and met up!

Frankie never knew her father and was drowning in the shadow of her successful FBI agent mother. She decided to move across the country to come into her own as an undercover agent. Little did she know the madness she would be stepping into.

Frankie is a great character as are her fake fiance Sean, and of course we meet up with the whole gang from the Vegas Series at the LVMPD. Fast paced story, plenty of action and the amazing human connections between charcters which makes the story really special in a way only Mimi Barbour can write!

Am going through this series like my life depended on it. Really glad that this book was free this week. And yes the SHIFT operators continue on mission find my mate. Can't wait to see what kind of mate SIdd is going to end up with. Greybear get's his Nessie in this book. A bear mates with a dragon and a royal one at that. Love the pyrotechnics in the book.

Book Review

I loved all the dragon tech that Serg stole from his clan. I wish it was possible to have those sunglasses with the dating app in them. It would be so cool! And yes the story line was nice as was the awesome science fiction like gadgets that they use. It was nice to see the old SHIFT team assemble when Serghei needed them. Loyal soldiers all of them. Am so looking forward to the next book.

I read this book back to back with the first one in the series and it's equally good. Well Haller got his mate out of tight situation, but got his SHIFT teammates into a bad one. Now their dragon pal is under observation, and a new dragon boss is (mis) handling the squad. All traces of their video need to be removed, but as they go about eliminating witnesses our lion of the book - Demian finds his mate Allison. One hot night to sire a cub and he's got to remove himself from her life to keep her safe. Now he's back along with the danger. Will she let him in, or will she guard Liam his cub and her heart against him...obviously they get back together

I started out with this book as it was free in some newsletter, but I must say it was so much fun that I went back and picked up the second book in the series almost as soon as I finished this one. It's a unique set of shifters that work together as a team - a wolf, a lion, a bear and a dragon. Apparently it's the dragons that call the shots and when out wolf of the book - Haller, discovers that his one night stand is actually his mate, he's going to keep her safe. Even if it means going up against a direwolf and a clan of dragons. Fun times follow...

Once I finished the City Shifters Pride and Den series I decided to check out this one as well. And It's got a complete new set of characters and is just as much fun. Zoe is human, and a master hacker. She gets into trouble with her bad guy boss so her brother decides to hide her with Simon. Simon is a bear and was not expecting his mate to be a wanted criminal. She gets into an accident and he can't think of losing her so he gives her a blood transfusion to save her life. She's not exactly grateful when she wakes up!

Book Review

I've been reading this series and loving each subsequent book more than the previous one. There is just so much drama, action, and thrills in each installment that you really keep wishing that it doesn't end.

 I actually read this book a couple of chapters at a time and forced myself to take breaks, because I couldn't bear the thought of finishing it too quickly. Alas, all good things come to an end and so did this fantastic read. I really really wanted Gita to get him in the end of the book. Guess that would mean the end of the series, and no book 5 so I can wait for him to claim her in the next book. 

Between his amnesia and PTSD you can almost forgive him for not recognizing his chead phosadh. Just a little heartbreaking the way she keeps sacrificing herself for his happiness. He better make it up to her properly in the next book, okay Anna? And I absolutely love the many many colourful characters that are woven into the story, humans of all tribes, species from different galaxies, it's just amazing the way everything comes together in an absolutely epic novel!
