Book Description
In a world of darkness, she is his only light.
When Kara’s ship gets stranded on a cold rock on the ass-end of the solar system, she knows that her chances of a knight in shining armor rescuing her are slim to none. But when a light in the sky turns out to be none other than a Marauder with shining teal armor and rippling muscles who lands and saves her, she thinks her luck is too good to be true. And it is. He’s Kain, Son of Grius, and he’s from Darkstar. It’s a barren world beyond the orbit of Pluto, and it’s the home base of Marauders who want to obliterate the human race. But before they eradicate humanity, they’re perfectly happy to take human females as slaves.
Kain Son of Grius has betrayed Darkstar and become a peacekeeper. His mission? Go back to Darkstar as an undercover agent. But on the way, a distress beacon from a stranded human ship takes him off course. It takes just one look in that human’s eyes, and his entire life goes off course. He thinks he might be able to save her, but before he can, a fully-armed ship from Darkstar approaches. He’ll have to go on with his undercover mission, and he’ll have to take his potential mate as prisoner.
If he wants her to survive, he’ll have to claim her.
Book Review
This is the fifth book in the Mating Wars series and follows the story of Kain, whom we met Ramses' book. The guy who showed him mercy on Venus. Well some time has lapsed since then and Kain is now a trained Peacekeeper. His first mission? To return to Darkstar and infiltrate the place. Only while he's on his way back he intercepts an SOS and finds his mate.
Unfortunately Darkstar also responds to the emergency beacon and now Kain must let his mate Kara and her sister Felicia be taken as slaves. Will be be able to rescue her in time? Will his mission be compromised? You need to read to find out more. I love the ways the sisters bicker all through the book. I also enjoyed the cultural differences that come into play when Kain needs to resort to violent murder to protect Kara. Can't wait to read about Malcolm and Felicia!
I received an ARC for an honest review.

Book Description
An alien warrior breaks all the rules to protect his human mate.
Ramses Ivanov never thought he’d find his mate, but when this alien warrior meets his new partner--a human cop on Earth--everything changes. He can’t resist her soft, sweet voice; or her almond-brown eyes and killer curves. Dating your partner is strictly forbidden, but when it comes to his mate, all rules are meant to be broken.
Elise never really wanted to be a cop, and she certainly never wanted an insufferable, frustrating asshole like Ramses as her partner. The sexy, pink-skinned alien swaggers onto Earth like he owns the whole planet, and he looks at Elise with a cocky grin, like he owns her.
When a terrorist attack exposes Elise to a mysterious gas, the supercomputer that runs Earth tries to kill her. Ramses knows of only one place that he can keep her safe--a planet no one is supposed to land on...Atlantis. He’d go to hell and back to protect Elise, and it turns out that Atlantis is the closest thing there is to hell. Ramses and Elise will have to become much more than partners if they want to survive this ice-cold abyss--freeze to death, or find warmth in each other.
Book Review
There is a time gap here in the series as Ageus' son Ramses grows up on Venus and becomes a peacekeeper. On his first mission to Earth he manages to bump into his mate and then nearly looses her as Harmony wants to kill her. Harmony is the Artificial Intelligence computer in charge of all things on Earth now.
Ramses needs to keep Elise alive, and with a little help from his father heads out into outer space for a safe zone. Of course there is a huge twist in the tale and they end up in a place previously believed to be a myth. As they struggle in the icy terrain to stay alive till his cousin can rescue them, they get help from the strangest of allies...can they really trust a Darkstar Marauder?

Book Description
I can run from danger, but I can’t run from him.
When my father tries to marry me off to a man I don’t love, I buy a one-way ticket to Mars. But before I can even get out of orbit, a brutal alien warrior attacks. He says he wants our ship, but from one look in his eyes, I know he wants much more from me.
I’m left with a choice: try to hitchhike to Mars--alone and penniless--through the empty cold of space, or accept this infuriating alien’s protection. And take him home with me.
I’d always wanted a man to stand up to my father, I just never thought it would be him. He’s frustrating, mysterious, and fiercely protective. All of humanity is one big game of chess to him...am I his pawn? Or his queen?
He’ll protect me from everything in the world, but nothing in the universe can protect me from him.
Book Review
Aegus was of the firm belief that Humans were the answer to the Marauders fertility troubles. He has seen his brother find his human mate and have a seraphim child. He knows that the rest of his species is divided about the approach to humanity. He's hoping to have things set in motion in such a manner that when they do reach Earth his people decide to stay here instead of plundering and moving on.
With Mars and the orbitals supporting his brother, and Earth pretty much having no choice, he needs to focus on Venus. What he did not need to focus on was the Tsarevna of Venus, Anya, who happens to be his fated mate. When her father is killed by the General who would enslave her, Aegus makes a run for it with her to the floating Jungles, hoping that the tribes will help protect her and help him fight the war that he knows is coming.
It was really interesting sci fi to see how the Jungles worked at terraforming and how the tribes were actually descended from scientists. I received an ARC for my honest opinion.

If I want to survive, I’ll have to accept this brutal alien’s protection. He’s frustrating, insufferable, and never admits he’s wrong. And the worst part? He says he wants to kill all humans. But he protects me, fiercely and without question.
His body is a deadly weapon, and he’s vicious and unrelenting. So why has he spared me? And why does he keep looking at me with those jade green eyes and that smug grin?
Falling for this cocky alien killer may just be the one thing that saves me, but who can save me from him?
Book Review
There's a team of assassins coming to get Cygnus and his brother. The marauders need to kill them to be rid of shame debt. Fiona is on a gunship but despite being from the Earth's surface she has sympathy for the colonists. A fact that does not go over well with her ships captain. Just when she feels she's going to be chucked out into outer space, Fenrir arrives and saves her because he needs her to get to Mars.
Only trouble is getting there undetected doesn't work and they get captured by human colonists who decide to use Fiona to draw out Cygnus and her sister. Its a do or die situation, and the two of them have to literally fight off the marauders sent to kill them. Nice action and drama.

Book Description
War rages between Earth and Mars, and an alien fleet from a distant star barrels toward our solar system. I’m laying low in the asteroid belt, as far from the war as I can get, but so is one of the aliens. And I’m the first to find him.
Second to find him? Pirates. A whole lot of them. The alien kills every last one to protect me, and we barely escape before reinforcements arrive. Now my life is in the hands of this savage, purple-skinned killer.
Not all of his skin is purple though, his...thing...is teal. And it’s nearly as big as the rest of him. His shoulders are as wide as Valles Marineris, and he’s tall as Olympus Mons. His ego is way too big for my tiny ship, but one look from him with that insufferable grin, and my cheeks burn hotter than Venus.
He’s protected me fiercely and without question, but which side will he take when the rest of his race comes to destroy us all?
Book Review
Shifters ever seemed a bit alien to you? Well in this book, the bear is literally from outer space. A purple shifter bear from a race called the Maurauders is caught by a human female scrapper who runs a solo space ship. I know science fiction may not have the same effect as an earthy shifter novel, but if you just go with the flow, the story is pretty fun.
Sort of like Star Wars meets Werebear kind of thing happening. And i have to say I had no idea what teal looked like and I needed to go online to check out just what the colour was! :0 You'll get it when you read the book. I received an ARC for my honest opinion.

Book Description
She will venture into hell to save the one she loves.
After being betrayed by one of their own, Nicole watches helplessly as Blake is snatched into the prison world of Kerberos—along with Medusa’s head, which is the one item they need to stop the Titans from rising again. Now Nicole and the other Elementals must enter the portal, find Blake, and bring him and Medusa’s head back to Earth before the deadly monster Typhon returns and wreaks havoc on the world. But there’s one catch—their elemental powers don’t work in Kerberos. In a dimension designed to make those within it lose touch with reality, and that’s filled with dangerous creatures who want to stop them from completing their task, will they make it out alive?
In this penultimate book of Nicole’s story, join the Elementals as they journey through hell to save the world… before it’s too late.
Book Review
The way we lost one of the Elementals in the previous book did not bode too well for this book. Right away we have a huge betrayal of the Demi God and Nicole and the others must prove their worth. The good news is that she finally gets to meet her dad, Apollo, the bad news is that he's there to help her survive the prison dimension of Keberos.
The good news is that the primordial deity Nyx sends them a guide, the bad news is that he is only going to show them the way but not help them make their decisions. Can the three remaining Elementals make the tough journey through a nightmare realm and rescue Blake? Not to mention get back the deadly weapon of Medusa's head?
You have to read to find out. There were some times I really was wondering how they are ever going to get over their run of bad luck, but I guess the author has it under control...sort of...I hope!

Book Description
When Nicole Cassidy moved to a new town, she discovered that she was a witch descended from gods. But that was nothing compared to learning that it was up to her and four others with mysterious elemental powers to help save the world from the Titans, who would soon return to Earth.
Now her relationship with Blake -- the fire Elemental -- is finally heating up. But she must remain focused, because Typhon, one of the deadliest creatures in history, has escaped from the weakening prison world. Only one object can destroy him -- the head of Medusa herself.
Follow the Elementals as they journey to the end of the Earth, facing choices that will put their lives and the entire world at risk. Will they all survive the mission?
Book Review
This is the third book in the series and you need to read the first two to make any sense of this one. And the quests are on! There is so much excitement in this book. The team is finally coming together. They are working on their strengths, and of course the side dose of romance does help. We know that Nicole is coming to terms with the limits on her power even as the others are discovering what all they can do.
This time they have to retrieve the Golden Sword of Athena from Antarctica. Chris sure comes in handy while keeping them alive in the frigid temperatures. I loved the Frozen (Disney movie) reference. Of course next they have an even tougher challenge to meet. Getting the head of Medusa to defeat Typhon. It's getting exciting out there!

Book Description
This book is light on suspense and heavy on romance, and a perfect read anytime of the year!
Allison Cornwall was forced to leave her hometown in Connecticut and live life on the run from an ex-boyfriend turned stalker. She changed her name and hunkered down in Heaven, PA. The small, idyllic town was— a safe haven where no one could find her. And yet, after a year and a half of peace, he did. Police Chief Ian Brown is determined to keep crime out of Heaven. When Ally fears for her life, he's there to protect. Recently divorced, he's not looking for love, but this innocent young woman touches his heart. Can they put their pasts behind them and open themselves to the miracle of Christmas—learning once again to trust and to love?
Book Review
The story follows up with Nick and Jennie's tale from the first book in the Heavenly Christmas series. There was a hint in that book about the stalker in Allison's past. Nick is worried about his waitress' safety enough to be glad when Police Chief Ian Brown decides to take a personal interest in the case. He's not too sure about Ian taking a personal interest in Allison!
Still the crusty old policeman and the feisty young photographer cum waitress have their own challenges. Least of which is the old stalker coming to make them bleed. Both are equally convinced that the best thing they can do is give up the other person, but will they realize what a huge mistake they're making?

Book Description
The book is a rendition of the Hindu Epic Mahabharata from Draupadi's (Panchaali's) point of view. Writer elaborates the Mahabharata with modern twist as it narrates the story from the perspective of Draupadi. The story takes us to a world that includes half-history, half-myth and full magic. The novel is a completely human novel about a woman born in this patriarchal society, the world full of agony and the ever manipulating hands of destiny.
The story reflects the facts about Draupadi’s life, like born from agni or fire of yagna, friendless childhood, where her adorable brother is her only true friend; her complex friendship with the mysterious Krishna; to marriage, maternity and her secret attraction to the undisclosed man who is her husbands' most dangerous opponent.
Book Review
The Mahabharat is a tale that few Indians can escape. Even if you have not formally read the story, there is no way you have avoided watching it on television, or hearing tales from it from grandparents. When I sat down to read this story, the epic as rendered by Draupadi, I was not sure what to expect. I must say that it was very well written.
The woman's point of view, of what was acceptable and what was not. How wanting just Arjun blinded her to the love of Bheem. How Kunti was not the sainted mother, but actually a cunning mother in law. What really was it like to be born of fire, and have ever one fear her. The crush on Karna, the longing and the shame.
It was such a fantastic retelling, I still get goosebumps thinking about what Panchali has to endure. An absolute MUST read.

Book Review
While this book is part of the Angels with Attitudes series, each book can be read as a standalone book. No cliffhangers. Just some really interesting people, their angels and love coming a full circle. This book was really a lovely read and I actually cried a couple of tears, and I'm not going to tell you at what part. You need to read it for yourself.
Leilani is excited about her holiday in Hawaii, till things start to go wrong. She really did not expect to become a caretaker of a young, cranky boy. Especially one who wants nothing to do with her on sight. Then Kale Jordan comes to her rescue, although her driver is helping her in ways she can't begin to imagine!

Book Description
Without the angel forcing him to brake, Liam could have killed the gorgeous girl who ran in front of his car to save a little boy. He owed the rescuer big time and would pay his debt no matter that she acted cranky and became more difficult with every meeting. After all, how hard could it be to walk a bunch of mangy mutts?
Men are scum and no one can tell Sadie any different. It’s why she stays away from them. Until a crazy, hotshot soldier runs her down with his convertible. Now she's stuck having to accept his help in her elite dog-walking business. Just her luck that some of the expensive pets go missing, and Liam decides the puppy-mill rumour needs to be investigated and those dogs have to be found.
Book Review
Sadie and Liam's book has nothing to do with book 1 of the Angels with Attitudes series and can be read as a standalone. That said, it's brilliant book by Mimi. What I absolutely love is that her characters are never perfect, they are human. When they struggle with their emotions, you feel for them. Of course there is the rather unangelic being watching each move Liam makes, adding a layer of fun to the story. Liam's sulks, Sadie's pretended indifference, it all adds up to another amazing book!

Perversely, once her life alters, he misses her like hell. In one sweet night of loving everything changes. But, due to an overabundance of nightcaps, she doesn’t remember the night he can’t forget.
Book Review
What I like most about the books Mimi writes is the underlying humour! In My Cheeky Angel we get treated to a love interest, a social cause and an otherworldly presence all dealt with in the sweetest possible manner. I love that Annie goes though so much to make a big change in the way her life is going and adore how Tyler tries to come to terms with all the changes that ripple through his life as a consequence. Totally enjoyed their romance... Specially when a hungover Annie doesn't even remember Tyler's kisses! That part and his reaction was hilarious!

Book Description
A demigod who can kill with a touch. It's an ability that must be kept secret, even from those trusted most. Finding out that she was a witch was strange enough, but now Nicole must face the realization that she has the rare power to kill with just a touch. No one can know her secret -- not even Blake, who she's had undeniable chemistry with since first moving to town. Now Nicole, Blake, and the three others with elemental powers must journey abroad to stop a series of monsters that they previously believed to be dead from rising once again and destroying the mortal world. Will they all survive the quest? And how long will it be until Nicole is forced to use her ability to kill in front of everyone, revealing the true darkness of her powers? Find out in The Blood of the Hydra, and join the Elementals on their mission to save the world -- or die trying. "From sea monsters, sacred cows, lotus-zombies and gigantic beasts, there's never a dull moment!"
Book Review
And they are off on a quest! The five Elementals as Chris has christened them are now on a mission to make a deadly mix to coat their weapons with. This will allow the monsters they slay to get sent to a limbo rather than allowing them to reenter via the portal and cause more chaos. However in true Olympian style they have many tasks to fulfill before success can be had. Fantastic!
