Book Description
“In the months that followed I watched His Holiness working on a new book . . . I began to think that perhaps the time had come for me to turn my paws to a book of my own . . . one that tells my own tale . . . How I was rescued from a fate too grisly to contemplate, to become constant companion to a man who is not only one of the world’s greatest spiritual leaders and a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, but who is also a dab hand with the can opener.”
Not so much fly-on-the-wall as cat-on-the-sill, this is the warmhearted tale of a small kitten rescued from the slums of New Delhi who finds herself in a beautiful sanctuary with sweeping views of the snow-capped Himalayas. In her exotic new home, the Dalai Lama’s cat encounters Hollywood stars, Buddhist masters, Ivy-league professors, famous philanthropists, and a host of other people who come visiting His Holiness. Each encounter offers a fresh insight into finding happiness and meaning in the midst of a life of busy-ness and challenge. Drawing us into her world with her adorable but all-too-flawed personality, the Dalai Lama’s cat discovers how instead of trying to change the world, changing the way we experience the world is the key to true contentment.
Featuring a delightful cast of characters, timeless Buddhist wisdom, and His Holiness’s compassion pervading every chapter, The Dalai Lama’s Cat is simply enchanting.

Book Review
There is just no way that this cat does not get five stars! The author has done a fabulous job of picking up a stray cat from the streets of Delhi and placing her in the Dalai Lama's quarters. This little "Snow Lion" becomes our gateway to simple spiritual lessons from Buddhists teachings, and how they can be implemented in real life. The sweetest thing is how our little Rinpoche actually strives to better herself even if she is just a cat, she is a truly blessed one. The book follows her adventures in town and in the monastery and manages to teach us complex lessons with great simplicity.

Book Description
Master Engineer Kasha lives in hiding. As a Tanoa and a woman, she has no legal right to her title, and risks expulsion or even execution if the Guild discovers her identity. For over a year she has served as the City Engineer of the Andalano city of Wingmount, home to the Winged Riders and their pegasus mounts.
Now, though, her people need her. The last of their Earth Shamen is trapped in the mountains, holding back a volcanic eruption so that the rest of her people can escape. Saving her is a job for only the greatest of all engineers, and that happens to be Kasha.
But when her kinsman, Ahote, breaks the most sacred law of the Winged Riders, an alliance with him means certain death. Kasha must work alone to solve the most difficult engineering problem of all time before the summer months are done and winter comes to claim the life of the Shaman and the hope of her people.

Book Review
Kasha is a woman, but she is also the City Engineer at Wingmount. The banker helps her maintain an illegal account, the magistrate grants her an engineer's sash, and the locals give her more work than she can handle. However at every moment she is aware that there are Riders who resent her, that there are people who will be happy to tear her to shreds if she slips up once.
In order to make herself invaluable to the Riders of Wingmount she is designing parachutes to help them fall to Earth from the winged and survive. In order to help her cousin Ahote, she is working on a flying kite that can lift the Earth Shaman, his grandmother safely off the volcano that she currently sits on and guards with her very life from errupting.
With everything going on, she must also make time to deal with other engineering issues around the city, teach the young Tanoa children, look after Jefe, and make her mother feel that she is needed in her life. Not to mention Ahote's consistent need to rescue tainted wings from the stables at Wingmount. Its a tall order, and a difficult life for a young girl. Makes for an interesting story to read.

Book Description
For over a thousand years, the Tanoa have relied on their Earth Shamen to bring rich harvests, temper stone tools and weapons, and imbue pottery with strength like metal. Now, though, the bloodline has dwindled to one Shaman, Tuwa, who is trapped high in the mountains, holding bedrock together to prevent a volcanic eruption while the rest of her people flee to safety. The only way to save the village is for her to sacrifice herself and buy them the time they need to evacuate.
But her grandson, Ahote, refuses to abandon her to die. Rather than do as she asks—marry and bear daughters who might inherit her gift—he sets out to find the one person who might be able to save Tuwa’s life.
Kasha is a Tanoa girl in who lives in Wingmount, a city of the pale-skinned Andalanos. If the Engineers Guild ever discovers her gender or race, they could order her execution—for in violation of the King’s law, Master Engineer Seamus trained Kasha as his apprentice. She is a genius in all things mechanical and earned her master certification when only fourteen years old. Since Seamus’s death, she has been discreetly working his job as the City Engineer.
She knows there is no machine or technology that can save Tuwa. In order to complete this task, Kasha must invent a vehicle unlike anything the world has ever seen, and risk exposure and death in the process.

Book Review
The author has created a beautifully rich world similar to our own, but with a number of differences. The main story is interesting as we watch a young man struggle to find a way to help his power Earth Shaman grandmother's life. It runs parallel with the story of Kasha, a Tanoa girl who is incredibly skilled in the Engineer's trade despite not being Andalanian.
The journey for Ahote from the Red Cliffs to Wingmount is fraught with danger but it makes him stronger than before. His mother helps him when she can, but he learns that he must make the last of his journey alone. Making friends, and keeping a watch for possible enemies, it takes him quite a while to reach Kasha, but he is heartened to know that she is already aware of his problem and working on a solution to it.
Unfortunately when Ahote desires to save a tainted winged one he must leave Wingmount so as not to destroy Kasha's life as she knows it. Will they be able to find a way to help his grandmother together? It will be interesting to read the next book to find out.

Book Description
To keep her, he'll have to gamble it all!
Andrew Weston and Jill Walsh had to be the two most unlikely people to fall in love. When Jill's first husband's love for her simply fizzled and died, Jill knew she'd never trust that love could last again. After Andrew's first love betrayed him in the most brutal way possible, he knew he might fall in love again someday, but there was no way he'd ever make himself vulnerable again by confessing those feelings if he did.
Fate had a different ending in mind for these two, though, and when Andrew discovers his love for Jill, he knows the only way to get her to stay with him forever is to offer her an iron clad penalty clause in a prenuptial agreement. He stays with her forever or he loses everything he owns. The millions he's worked for, his property, his cars, everything. Now he just needs to hope that's enough to hold onto Jill forever.

Book Review
When fifteen year old Andrew went to his grandmother Nora’s
home he fell in love with his gorgeous eighteen year old next door neighbour Jill.
With the age difference between them even though Jill was flattered with his
attention nothing was ever going to happen. Years later Jill ends up at the
house as a refuge from an unsettling divorce. She is now a wild life
photographer and her dog Rev is all she needs to get over her cheating ex. She
could do with a rebound guy…
Andrew is now a successful man in business, but shies away
from any romantic relationship after a conniving money digger sold off his
unborn baby’s abortion to his equally mercenary parents. He no longer believes
it is possible for him to have a family of his own, but is happy to be blessed
with amazing friends. Imagine his surprise when Kelly, his best friend’s new
wife, decides to hook him up with a friend of hers, who turns out to be Jill.
Both of them fight their attraction to each other, but
finally succumb to it labelling it a no strings attached fling. Unfortunately
both their hearts don’t seem to understand and they fall in love. Each is
reluctant to tell the other and things get dangerous when an assistant from
work decides that Andrew needs rescuing from Jill. Will the mentally deranged
woman manage to kill Jill before Andrew can rescue her? Find out when you read
the book.

Book Details
Hawker was a good soldier--so good, in fact, that the Army asked him and his buddies to sign on for an extended hitch. What they couldn't know was that the extension would last forever. Century after century, war after war, Hawker and his comrades were resurrected over and over to fight on alien planets with ever more advanced weapons. The reasons for the wars were incomprehensible, but that didn't matter. All that counted was the fighting itself. From incarnation through incarnation, one goal remained in Hawker's mind. Somewhere, somehow, there had to be a way out of the loop. And he was determined to find it. This is a modern revision of a classic science fiction novel.
Book Review
I am
absolutely blown away with this book. Cryogenics is such a fascinating topic.
Can you be frozen and wake up without ageing some day in the future? Is the
being that you are today, going to fit into a society in the future. Then add
the military aspect of how a fighting soldier will adapt to waking up in a
future world and fighting...simply amazing. And I love the four primary
"sleepers", the reasons that they got originally pushed into project
Banknote. Green really was the smart one...one single word was the key to
getting off the merry go round...remember. If humanity ever really goes that
way, and it is looking like a very real possibility, such soldiers will begin
to exist! Scary thought isn't it!!!
