Always a Bridesmaid (The Bridesmaids Series Book 2)

Book Description

Nicole Edwards has walked down the aisle as a bridesmaid thirteen times! Thirteen times! In an effort to change her luck, this master baker plans to give up waiting for Jake – who doesn’t know she’s alive – sell her business in New York City, buy a food truck in Los Angeles, and find her own happily ever after.

Chef Sean O’Malley could use Nicole’s dessert skills at his restaurant in New York City. In fact, he’s banking on a joint venture with Nicole, although he hasn't yet approached her about it. When he learns during a pre-wedding event they’re both working that she’s moving to L.A. because she’s giving up on Jake, he decides to give her a crash course on how to be noticed. Sean has, after all, three younger sisters. He knows how a woman’s mind works. But he doesn't factor in how his heart works or how easily it could be broken.

Book Review

Nicole has worn her heart on her sleeve for Jack, but he doesn't seem to even notice her. She decides that its useless to try and win over a man who barely knows that she exists. She has all but made up her mind to pack her bags and leave town. She's going to experiment with running a food truck, much to the horror of Sean.

Sean needs to up his game as per food critics who think that he is too predictable. He loves Nicole for her spontaneity and wants her to help re-do his menu for the restaurant that is facing dire consequences. He also loves her, but can't bring it up. So he decides that the only way to keep her in town is to ensure that she manages to snag Jack's attention, even when he is well aware that Jack is gay.

In the background Tiffany is also trying to convince her in-laws to be that Jackson and she are a good match. That is the primary character from book 1 of the Bridesmaid series.

Book Review

Having read a lot of Melinda's books I was looking forward to reading ALWAYS A BRIDESMAID and it didn't disappoint. The chef and the baker working together in the kitchen made for some interesting reading. Sean may have thought that having three younger sisters made him ready for anything female, but he was definitely not prepared for the Siberian Curse. Nicole may not know that the man she is pining after is gay, but she is even more confused about the two sides of Chef Sean. Does he want to yell at her or kiss her senseless? Amazing chemistry in the kitchen and outside it! The sweater makeover was hilarious!
