Skipping class can be deadly…

Fifteen-year-old Darcy Walker’s name means "dark walker." Whether her parents’ choice was a stroke of genius or smack of stupid, they definitely nailed the irony. She lacks direction. Distracts easily. And despite a high IQ, her grades stink.

Valley High’s reigning misfit, she’s also infatuated with a bad boy. A guy that her hottie best friend, Dylan, wishes would get acquainted with his fist.

With her life spiraling out of control, she cuts class and stumbles upon a corpse in a dumpster. From there, things go high-octane because in a world full of nouns, Darcy’s a verb. Hardwired for action, she gets caught up in the middle of the mystery and can’t let go.

When the school’s biggest nerd is arrested for the crime, Darcy goes Mach 1 trying to clear his name. Constructing aliases. Breaking the law. Dodging gangbangers who want her dead. Everything that makes perfect sense to her, but reeks of Grade A Stupid to everyone else.

Trouble is...will she live to see sixteen?

Book Review

The narration is a set of jumbled thoughts of the main character. It's really difficult to figure out any of her motivation in doing the whole follow that clue thing. Absolutely unbelievable ways to come in to information. The whole 15 year old passes for a lawyer routine was idiotic. I honestly kept hoping for some redeeming factor in the girl but was disappointed. She hasn't a clue that her best friend loves her. She's supposed to have a high IQ so what's she using it for? Not worth the time

Book Review

The mystery murderer of Chloe is finally revealed. This series has been full of intrigue and suspense, dosed with a healthy helping of romance. The earlier books dealt with Eden and Simone being stalked by the murderer, and this time it's Allie.

Only he's not just stalking her, he's actively kidnapped one of her clients. A little girl called Hope who may be a double for Chloe. She needs to find Hope before the deadline imposed by the murderer comes to pass. She needs to stay strong and work through the clues that he's been sloppy enough to leave.

She will find it difficult to concentrate with Max, Hope's uncle, exploding emotions to deal with as well. Max is a retired fire fighter, the hero to his niece Hope. Not that he feels like much of a hero after the incident which caused him to tender his resignation. He's been feeling alive after Hope came back into his life and helping her with her parent's messy divorce has been healing for him.

Now she's missing and he's panicking. He's never trusted shrinks, because they don't seem to care, but Allie is different. She is emotionally vested in finding Hope and she's ready to paint a bulls eye on her own back to help find the kidnapper, but she's not telling him the full story. And he needs to know the truth.

The story is superb and yes you may think you know who did it, but you are in for a really big surprise! The twist in the end is totally unexpected.

Book Description

Exactly why should P.I. Vince Sutton take his ex-wife's case? Because she, assistant district attorney Simone Armstrong, put his brother in jail? Because the ambitious spitfire still drives him crazy? No, he'll take it because "The Avenging Angel" makes him a deal he can't refuse. Sparks fly when Vince works all-too-closely with Simone to locate her missing key witness...but in the process, they are drawn into a cold case. As much as he tries, Vince can't deny that he's never gotten over beautiful Simone, but can he admit his feelings to her--and himself? And can he save her from the danger that's heading their way?

Book Review

Second book in the Honor Bound series. We had the investigative journalist Eden find the Iceman in book one with help from her good friend and cop Cole. This book follows up with Simone, the prosecutor in the DA's office. When Mara, a key witness in her case, goes missing Simone is willing to do what it takes to get her back. Even if it means asking her ex marine, ex PI and ex husband Vince for help. The two may have married and divorced in a hurry, but they have never really got over each other. As the danger builds from different sources and Vince rushes in to protect Simone, they rediscover their attraction to each other and this time they are both different and willing to work on it. Superb follow up book. Can't wait to see them catch Chole's murderer in the last of the book series.
