I Am The 10th (Navruts series- Book 1)

Genre:

 Historical thriller

BlurbBased in modern times, ‘I Am The 10th’ is the story of one of the oldest, and arguably the mightiest cults that originated during the 3rd century BC in India.

Sarah, a happily married lady from New Delhi, India, wakes up one fine morning in an unknown place. It’s not her home, not her city; it’s not even her country.

What is she doing there? How did she reach there? Where is her family?

Her search to all these questions takes her on a journey, a long journey that had started way back in the 3rd century BC. She finds out that everything she thought she knew about her- her marriage, husband, family, home, India, even her name- was a lie.

Will she be able to find out the truth? More importantly, will she be able to handle the truth if she finds it out?

Come and join Sarah on her journey that will take you to 300 BC, through the Mahabharata era, and back. Witness the biggest and the deadliest battle ever in the history of mankind that could well spell the end of humanity and the end of this world. Experience the might of the ancient Shastras and Astras, like Naag Pash, Brahma Kavach, and Narayan Astra.

The Clockwise Collection Finale!

The stress created by Casey's recent split from Nate causes her to trip back in time in a haphazard manner, and not always to the same time! Sometimes she's in 1929 Boston getting more entangled than ever with the mishaps of her new and not-so-helpful friends, and at other times she's back in 1775 trying to make sure the colonists still win the war of Independence!

Will the craziness ever stop? And will she and Nate work out things in time for graduation?

Book Review

For a while there all of Casey's "tripping" in the book had me tripping in my head. The poor thing was really reeling from her break up with Nate and was heading into one messed up time line after another. I'm so glad that she finally found the help she needed to set things straight. (nice touch there by the author, but I'm not going to be handing out a spoiler here).

Although I must admit I was very surprised that after all that she went through when she didn't have Nate, she refused to get back together with him when he did finally come calling. Although I loved the fact that she was so much more confident about her own abilities and had the conviction that she could survive anything on her own.

The book showed just how far Casey had come from being a frightened teen to a mature young woman who could handle anything.

Book Description

CHRISTMAS TEARS - current day.
Elena's got a lot on her mind. The holidays are approaching and with them all kinds of cheerfulness…for everyone but her. The entire holiday season just highlights past pain. Loss. And depression. A river rafting trip down the Colorado River is the perfect anti-Christmas gift to herself. Nothing about the Grand Canyon in December resembles snow and cheer. And it’s actually working until the raft overturns, sending her toward a watery grave...

IRISH CHEER - 1790.
His luck just might be changing. Morrigan is leading a salvage mission. Out on the ocean, fighting the elements, the men row toward a Spanish galleon. The big ship hit a reef. It's sinking fast. Chances of finding a survivor are slim. Odds of pulling treasure from the wreck even slimmer. And then he pulls a woman from the sea...
And finds both.

FIRE AMID THE SNOW
Elena hadn’t believed in Christmas magic. Until it happened to her.

Book Review

Elena is going through a hellish life when she decides to escape Christmas with an adventure vacation. What she did not expect is the holiday to change her life by throwing her back into the past. She definitely did not expect Morrigan and she's still debating if she's watching a historical play enactment while he's literally fighting to keep her alive.

Morrigan needs no baggage. He's got plenty on his mind, but he is too much of a good soul to leave Elena out at sea to die. Sure her fortune will bring him back his lost home, but does he really want to loot her and leave her? Not if he can marry her and have her! Of course she may just be a bit crazy given the way she speaks about being in the past, but he can live with that.

I got an advance copy of the ebook from the author for my review.

Book Description

A jaded billionaire
Gets transported to 1803
And stuck wearing a kilt...

A RIP IN THE FABRIC OF TIME

1803.
Scotland.
Ainslee MacAffrey has a second daughter's place in her clan. Unseen. Unnoticed. Unappreciated. She has a level of freedom her older sister can only dream of. But to save her sister, there's one thing she needs to gain - the new Duke of Straithcairn's proposal for marriage. He's under legal pressure to wed with one of them. Why should he care which one?

A HEARTLESS MAN
Present Day
Neal Straithmore's got one primary goal in life: Financial success. Everything else is secondary. He's got plans in place. Vehicles of action. Save the planet. Stop global warming. Reduce the carbon footprint. He's a workaholic. Driven. He doesn't have time for anything but domination.
...but he's running out of time.

THE PAST ISN'T READY
Neal's plan doesn't cover all the angles. Every person he knows wants something. He's tired of dealing with other's agendas. He's suffering a series of mini-strokes. And then his private jet enters a vortex in the Bermuda Triangle, and nobody is prepared for what occurs...

Book Review

For nearly six months now I have been reading Jackie's VAL series, which I am totally in love with. Vampire assassins with heart make so much fun for reading. Then I got my hands on this book. It's very different from the paranormal stuff she usually writes, but it's got an intriguing time travel plot. Neal goes from being nearly fifty and one of the most powerful businessmen on the planet to being in the body of a new Duke a couple of centuries ago.

Guess what? He's got to do the one thing he's sworn never to do in his previous life, get married! Of course when he sees the lovely Ainslee MacAffrey he's pretty sure he doesn't mind getting engaged. Then he discovers how she is mistreated by her father and the protective urge surges through him getting them married posthaste! What follows is a really adorable story of a couple of strangers coming together to care for one another through the shared challenges they face.

The book reminded me of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. The way Neal goes about dealing with the shortages of the past is actually quite amusing. Totally waiting to read the next book in the series!

I received the book as a gift from the author in exchange for my opinion.

The Watchmaker: A Sweet Contemporary Time Travel Romance

Book Description

Marae O’Conaire has much bigger problems than the fact her watch stopped at 3:57 p.m. When she brings her watch to a kindly repairman, she learns she has won a peculiar prize, a chance to re-live a single hour of her life. But Fate has strict rules about how one can go poking in the past, including the warning that she can’t do anything that would create a time-paradox. Can Marae make peace with the mistake she regrets most in this world?

The Watchmaker is a sweet, contemporary time-travel romance about second chances set in the historic mill city of Lowell, Massachusetts, complete with a walkable map of the downtown area canals. It explores themes of regret, second chances, interracial relationships, and the Nordic concept of fate being a participatory event. It is a complete, standalone novelette that is not connected to any series, though perhaps someday Urðr, Verðandi or Skuld will award an hour to someone else?

Book Review

One hour to change how things turned out. One hour in the past and how can Marae use this gift to make sure that her future turns out better than the one she is currently living in. Can you really change your own fate with the gift of a single hour? Marae sure hopes to try.

When the watch gifted to her by her dead fiancé stops she decides to get it repaired from the shop he bought it. Being his last connection to her, she would want to preserve it. Then the watchmaker gifts her with a magical hour in the past. She must now hurry to reach him one year ago and tell him just how much his love means to her. To try and keep him safe even as he goes into battle.

It is an absolutely brilliant tale and I love the way Anna spins her stories.
