Book Review

The third book in the Paradise Cove series brings us the story of Brittany. The talented dancer has been working in Miami and is pregnant with a baby that the father does not want. She returns home to lick her wounds and is surrounded by the love of her mother and sisters.

Chase is there to make good on following his dreams of creative writing. A month away from his maddening job with the promise of his play being considered by a friend who may produce it is enough to get him started, but he's lost his muse.

Brittany brings his writing to life and when he's there to help her when she miscarries, they both bond. He sees her for who she really is, behind that brash and confident face. He can see the vulnerable little girl and he wants to protect her, celebrate her. She's not too happy with how he decides to do that...Very nice rounding out of the series.

We met the three sisters and mother who run the Paradise Cove Cottages in the first book series of the series. This is the second book with Taylor's story. She finally manages to open that dream cafe of hers and just as things seem to be going well, a hurricane blows through the Florida Keys. Well, there is a storm brewing in her personal life with charter boat Captain Colt. At first he's just her best friend who gives her fresh free fish and she reciprocates with free food during happy hour. Then an old friend of hers passes through town and Colt seems to change before her eyes from a laid back friend to an almost possessive man. I was given a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review and I can truly say that there's an excellent story, with many familiar players from the first book making an appearance.

Book Review

Kayla and Sean's story is a great start to a new series by Patrice Wilton. Three sisters decide to help their mother run the guest cottages their step father bequeathed them just before his death. They all move from their respective lives ad come to Paradise Cove. The resort has a good location, but is badly in need of restoration and the sisters have decided that they are going to get the needful done. This book has the story of how the eldest, Kayla, finds her prince charming.

Dr Sean Flannigan has decided that he has nothing more to live for when he is unable to save his daughter from leukaemia. His wife in her grief blames him for not being able to cure her and they get a divorce. Sean isn’t operating at full throttle in the operation theatre and decides to take a break. This means sailing on his boat and out of his old life, maybe even to end his life.

What Sean hasn’t counted on is meeting Kayla. Her compassion may just be what he needed to get over his own depression. Beautiful beginning to another romantic series by Patrice Wilton. I received this book as a gift from the author for an honest opinion. It’s a lovely romantic read with a lot of very real life situations that crop up in the girls family.
