All it took was one look. And they were in love...

Princess Hemangini is mesmerised by Prince Devendra when she falls into his arms while rushing across the royal gardens.

The Prince of Indrapuri is amazed that the Princess of Mahendrapuri is even more beautiful and graceful than what the visiting bards sang in praise of her.

Their mutual attraction blooms into love and they decide to get married. Tying the knot is easy, but consummating the marriage is another matter altogether.

As their love and passion draw them towards each other, Devendra’s mother, Queen Kanchana Devi, keeps throwing obstacles in the path of the lovers; sometimes in the name of rituals and sometimes inflicting doubts in their minds; doing her best to keep them apart.

As the frustrated bride and groom tolerate the intervening time with impatience, something happens to shake up Hemangini; something that makes her refuse to let her husband touch her.

What will the proud prince have to do to make his princess fall into his arms once again?

Read this historical romance from India to find out if the passionate princess finds happiness with her prince or not.

It would be great if you can add this book to your TBR

Sundari Venkatraman is an Indie Author who has 40+ books to her credit. These books have consistently featured in the Top 100 Bestseller Lists on Amazon India, Amazon USA, Amazon UK, Amazon Canada and Amazon Australia in both romance as well as Asian Drama categories. Her latest hot romances have all been on #1 Bestseller slot in Amazon India for over a month.

The Passionate Princess, Book #1 of The Princess Series, is the author’s first attempt at penning a historical romance.

Even as a child, Sundari absolutely loved the ‘lived happily ever after’ syndrome and she grew up on a steady diet of fairy tales, Phantom comics and Mandrake comics. It was always about good triumphing over evil and a happy ending after the protagonists surmounted all unexpected obstacles.

Once she entered her teens, Sundari switched her loyalties from fairy tales to Mills & Boon. While she loved reading both of these, she kept visualising what would have happened if there were similar situations happening in India; to local heroes and heroines. And of course, the joy of vanquishing the ubiquitous evil villains! Her imagination soared and she happily ensconced herself in a rosy romantic cocoon for many years.

Then came the writing—a true bolt from the blue! And Sundari Venkatraman has never looked back.

Book Description

Ashley Walker was one of the lucky ones. Adopted when she was fourteen years old by a family willing to love her as their own, they stuck beside her through all the hell she put them through. A kind of hell that would haunt her forever. But now she’s put her past behind her—or so she thought. Garret Hensley never imagined he'd be chasing the killer of the woman who'd set him on the path of law enforcement. She'd given him reason to believe in himself, to believe he could make a difference. And he suspected her giving heart was the reason her life had been cut so short. When the evidence leads him to Ashley Walker, he knows he has to ignore the feelings she stirs in him, because getting her to reveal the truth of her past is the key to finding a killer.

Book Review

Garret is gutted when he has to investigate the murder of a woman who made such a huge difference in his life. Alice was a social worker who put the kids first and she did not deserve the brutal end that she met. Now Ashley may have the clue he needs to solve Alice's murder. Unfortunately Ashley has a few hidden secrets of her own. An abusive childhood that she has burried and refuses to deal with. Can Garret get her to face her past and still make a future for the two of them? An absolutely awesome new read from Lori. I don't know how she does it, but her characters find a way to worm themselves into your mind. You sit up at night wishing you had finished the book rather than switching off the lights at a decent hour and then wondering what happens next! I received an advance copy of the book from the author for an honest review. I honestly feel this series is even better than Sutton Capital one.

Former SEAL Jaxson River would give his life for his brothers and his pack, but if he doesn’t claim a mate soon, he’ll be forced to step down as their alpha. There’s only one problem: Jaxson’s dark secret would kill any mate he claimed. With someone kidnapping shifters off the street—and only Jaxson and his brothers, Jace and Jared, to stop them—now is not the time for his secret to come out.

Curvy Olivia Lilyfield is a half-witch orphan with a dark secret of her own. She wants to atone for it by doing good in the world, so when she finds a wolf being tortured in an alley, she doesn’t hesitate to help… even though wolves and witches mix like matches and TNT.

Olivia’s dangerous magic means she can’t let anyone get too close—but Jaxson can’t keep his hands off her, and his kisses are more than she can resist. As they race to save the disappearing shifters of Seattle, the true danger lies in loving each other. They’re playing with magical fire… and their secrets could end up destroying them both.

Jaxson is a complete novel with HEA, the first in the River Pack Wolves trilogy.

Book Review

Jaxon's a werewolf, and also an ex SEAL. He is also cursed to kill the woman he takes on as a mate. Unfortunately he is also the only one amongst three brothers who is able to take a mate and ensure powerful leadership for the pack.

Olivia is part witch, part human. She also has a terrible secret that weighs her down in guilt. If she is able to channel her rather unstable magical powers to life the curse from Jaxon, she is willing to try. Even if she ends up dead in the process.

She knows that's a price Jaxon will not be willing to pay, and enlists some help to meet her objective. Only plans never go just how they should. Nice light paranormal read. Definitely not for young impressionable minds :)

Book Description

With eleven missing women to find and six high-profile burglary cases to solve, the last thing Detective Nathan McNamara needs in his life is one more complication. And that’s exactly what his recent one-night stand is becoming—complicated. With his heinous lieutenant breathing down his neck for answers and his accidental girlfriend dropping hints for a commitment, Nathan is realizing that his career and his bachelor status are both on the line.

When the burglary cases suddenly escalate to homicide, Nathan must put everything else aside to stop the killer. But this is easier said than done when the blonde from the bar repeatedly shows up at his doorstep and enlists his own mother against him. Now he’s more convinced than ever that his job hangs in the balance and that the Surgeon General’s warning on the whiskey bottle should include something about women.

Book Review

I know its probably just a case of cheering for the underdog, but I sincerely like Nate better than Warren. Yes, Sloan has an amazing connection with Warren, and yes it makes a lot of sense for the two Seramorta to hook up for the sake of the story, but I'm still hoping Nate has a chance at a happy ending. With or without Sloan.

This book is all about how Nate came to town. How he ended up with a girl friend despite not really being in the market for one. Its basically background to the Soul Summoner book and sort of a prequel. Interesting if you are on team Nate!

Book Review

Every once in a while a book comes along that makes you laugh, has you on the metaphoric edge and has you cheering for the team of characters. This is one of those. Couldn't put the book down. Had to finish it in one sitting. Please do read the first book in the series to get a better idea of exactly what's happening in Sloan's life.

This was a fast paced story with a number of twists and turns as she finally meets her birth mother and understands exactly what she is. The bromance between Warren and Nathan is fun and extremely alpha male. I really don't want to give away the plot for those of you who would like to read this book. All I want to say is that I really want to know what happens once Warren leaves!

If you enjoy reading quick moving and eventful fiction, you are going to really enjoy this book.

Book Description

Blessed–or cursed–with a connection to the souls of others, Sloan Jordan can see the best in people… and the worst. For twenty-seven years, she's kept her ability a secret, but eleven young women have been murdered in the mountains of North Carolina, and Sloan may be the only hope of finding their killer.

She has just agreed to help Detective Nathan McNamara with the case, when a stranger—who is as alluring as he is terrifying—shows up at her doorstep with a dark past and another puzzling mystery: she can't see his soul at all.

Now Sloan is on the hunt for a deadly psychopath with two irresistible men. One of them would die for her, and the other would kill to keep her safe.

Book Review

I enjoy strong women with psychic powers, even if she hates being called psychic and Sloan was amazing. There is the vulnerability of not being normal, the thrill of being able to do something different and the longing to just get on with life.

This was a fast paced story with a number of twists and turns. It was also one of the best books I've read in a while. Paranormal elements, two hot boys crazy about one girl, adopted parents and a best friend who stands by her through all her crazy times. If you enjoy reading quick moving and eventful fiction, you are going to really enjoy this book.

Book Description

First comes love.
Then comes marriage.
Then comes a—

Hold up. You’re joking right? As if life works off a neat little list like that, moving down, checking things off before jumping to the next task. We’re not married. We’re not lovers. Hell, we’re hardly even friends. Noah Wilson isn’t exactly “life partner” material, and he sure as hell isn’t “father material”. He’s my older brother’s best friend, and has been off limits, sworn off, locked in the highest tower and out of reach since we met over ten years ago. With his devilish good looks, tattoos, motorcycle, and trail of broken hearts and tears, I’ve had good reason to stay away from the bad boy my mother warned me about.

Until one night. One stupid, regrettable night that changed both of our lives forever. And now I only have nine months to decide our fate, to see if Noah’s rebel heart is capable of anything more than a one night stand.

This isn’t a love story. This is a life story. And life doesn’t go according to plan.

Book Review

Noah is a bad boy. He accepts it, and yes is almost staggeringly proud of all the trouble he can raise. Right from school he's been getting in to all kinds of scrapes. He's very thankful for his best friend, Collin for staying with him and supporting him even when no one else in the world, including his mother, seems to give a rat's ass about him. Then while waiting for the Principal to read him the riot act he sees this beautiful girl and falls instantly in love.

Lauren is idealistic, wants to be a vet and does not believe students should perform dissections in school. She is in the office to protest to the procedure. That's when she meets Noah. He's exactly the kind of bad boy her mother has warned her to stay away from. She's a bona fide good girl. There is no way that she is ever going to get involved with Noah. And yet, there is something about him that has always drawn her. Perhaps its just the lure of what you know is forbidden.

Before Noah can make a move he realises that Lauren is Collin's younger sister. Being a strong believer in the Bro-Code, he makes her off limits and they drift to the sidelines in each others lives. Its been years and then Lauren is trying to escape from a particularly bad date when she walks into the bar where Noah is helping out. Being just a little tipsy and without transportation Lauren agrees to Noah taking her home. Down a couple of more shots, both of them finally do it, and wake up without a memory of the deed the next morning. They agree to never mention it again and go back to life as usual.

There's only one hitch in that plan - Lauren finds out that she's pregnant!

Lauren knows that while having a baby at this time in her life may not be ideal, there is no way she is getting rid of the child. She wants this baby, even if the father wants nothing to do with it. Noah is feeling like he got handed a dozen birthdays and Christmas gifts at once. Now not only can he claim Lauren for good, he will even have Collin's blessing for doing so. Just one problem remains - convincing Lauren that he really does want to be a part of their baby's life.
They decide to get to know each other better and see if things will work out. Its like a whole series of hit and misses before they finally find their equation. The author's done a great job of exposing the vulnerabilities of each of them and how they are so scared to open up their inner self to the other. Beautifully written.

I received a gift copy for my honest opinion and I'll let you know its well worth reading the book. You will enjoy it.

Book Description

A heartfelt and hilarious tale about two lost souls finding their way to each other.

Allison Murphy spends a week in March with the same group of girlfriends each year. What started as a college spring break tradition morphed into an annual reunion, ultimately encompassing boyfriends and husbands. Only Allison hasn't brought along a love interest in years, inspiring the others toward goodwill efforts at fixing her up. Faced with the prospect of yet another beach week mismatched with a virtual stranger, Allison's room mate Kate suggests a shocking alternative. Allison can "borrow" Kate's handsome and successful boyfriend for the trip. The trouble is Grady O'Brien stands for everything romantic idealist Allison is against. He's a ruthless businessman who will stop at nothing to get ahead. What Allison doesn't understand is just how far Grady is willing to go...

Wine industry entrepreneur Grady O'Brien knows an opportunity when he sees one. Allison Murphy runs a boutique wine label design company, while Grady heads up a firm that buys those sorts of businesses out. When Grady's girlfriend unexpectedly must attend a conference and their vacation plans are cancelled, she encourages Grady to accompany Allison to the beach instead. Grady agrees to participate in the ruse of playing Allison's boyfriend with a secret agenda in mind. He hopes to pave the way for acquiring Allison's Bella Fortuna Wine Designs by winning favor with its pretty owner and her friends. The one thing Grady doesn't count on losing in the bargain is his heart.

Book Review

Allison has a tradition of spending a week with her college friends each year. And over the years love interests for the other girls have become part of the holiday. Only trouble is that now they have all settled down with their love lives and Allison is the only one who has never brought a boy along. So they match make for her with disastrous results. When she shares her troubles with her current room mate Kate, she is shocked when Kate offers her own boyfriend Grady O'Brien as a substitute fake boyfriend to see her through the week.

Grady knows things have reached the near end with Kate and the final straw is when she volunteers his company out to Allison. That girl may be an artist but she's a mess. Nothing close to as organized or coordinated as he is. But its the artist that he needs to win over for a business project and so he figures its not a bad idea to do her this favour. They both start the week with trepidation and plenty of misgivings, but as the story plays out it becomes obvious that they both care for each other a lot more than they should.

Being the honest and straight people they are, they stay away from the attraction that they feel towards each other. At least as much as they can. Then Allison discovers Grady's ulterior motive and throw him out. Will the two of them manage to get past all the misunderstandings and obstacles that seem to stand in their way? Find out when you read the book. I received an ARC for an honest opinion.

I truly did enjoy reading the story. Although you feel you know what will happen given the popular theme, the author manages to put in a couple of good twists in the tale. Its a fun, light read perfect for a lazy weekend.

Book Description

Loki vowed Asgard would burn.

Bohdi Patel, latest incarnation of Chaos, wants nothing to do with Loki’s psychotic oath.
Stranded on the icy world of Jotunheim with Amy Lewis, his friend Steve Rogers, and an unlikely band of civilians, magical beings, and elite military, Bohdi just wants to keep himself and his friends alive … but when you’re Chaos incarnate, even the simplest goals are complicated.

If Jotunheim doesn’t kill them, Odin will, and if Odin doesn’t, the secrets they harbour might.

In the final instalment of I Bring the Fire, Bohdi, Amy, and Steve learn that Chaos cannot be contained, some secrets cannot be kept, and some vows cannot be broken.

Book Review

Okay, all the ice and difficulties in the beginning of the book were a bit boring to wade through. Although it was good to see Amy and Bohdi finally acknowledge each other's feelings. I did enjoy the twist of change of the guards for the Norse Gods in the end. I'm not revealing any more because it would not be fair to add spoilers to the review. Needless to say if you have the rest of the books in the series, you will surely be reading this one with bated breath right till the end.

And I need to get the grouse of my chest. Bohdi is supposed to be Indian, but no Kashmiri will be called Bhat, that's a south Indian surname. Plus Triloki, that is just not a Muslim name! I know I want to congratulate the author for the rest of the series being so much fun, but she really should have researched the name a bit better. Okay, I'm done grousing. Go read the book.

Book Description

When science meets Chaos, what could go wrong?

Bohdi Patel is keeping the revelation that he is Chaos incarnate a secret, and handling the revelation about as well as one would expect. He’s in a downward spiral: losing his lease, totaling his car, and trying to keep everyone he cares about at arm's length.

Veterinarian Amy Lewis is wondering what happened to the funny, flirty, curious Bohdi she knew in the land of the Norns. He’s become moody and sometimes cruel. She is definitely glad she didn’t become romantically entangled with him ... most of the time.

When tragedy strikes Amy’s beloved mutt Fenrir, and Odin strikes Bohdi’s best friend Steve, they have to work together again. Amy’s knowledge of science, Bohdi’s talents for theft, and both of their survival skills are put to the test. But more than Steve and Fenrir’s lives are at stake. Amy and Bohdi may unlock the key that saves mankind from the gods … or bring about the apocalypse.

Book Review

He definitely did not ask to be Loki's next incarnation. However Bohdi has to face the facts and the facts are that he is Chaos reincarnated and he is in love with Amy. For his own sanity he needs to keep his distance, but its difficult when he wants her so much. She is the friend who understands him better than anyone else. And its a friendship he is willing to go to great lengths to preserve. Especially when he needs her medical background to help heal his best friend Steve.

Amy knows she is conducting all kinds of crimes, but if she can get Steve okay again it will all be worth it. Fenirr is a good experiment subject, but something about messing with magic is bound to end badly. Specially when she is not completely honest about how she achived her results. However she can't just stand by and let Odin supress Earth using magic. She has to even the odds, and she does it remarkably well. Can't wait to read what happens next.

Book Description

The Leader Who Rules Chaos, Rules the Realms…

Two years ago Loki, God of Mischief and Chaos, destroyed a large chunk of Chicago’s financial district and then vanished into thin air. He still has not been found. Odin, ruler of the Nine Realms, is desperate. To find Loki, he sends his son Thor on a dangerous quest to consult the all-seeing Norns. But Thor needs humanity’s help...

Loki’s former lover, veterinarian Amy Lewis, is carrying all of Loki’s memories—but missing some of her own. Hoping to keep Loki from Odin’s machinations, she agrees to help Thor on his journey.

Bohdi Patel’s memory was wiped by Loki’s mischief. He thinks Amy and Thor are both crazy to want anything to do with Loki. But he needs to find his parents, and he’s been told the Norns will answer any question—for a price.

When Chaos is the goal, only one thing is certain: Amy and Bohdi are about to get into worlds of mischief.

Book Review

The hunt is on for Loki. Or rather his reincarnation, since he blew himself up with Cera. Odin has his minions hunting the 9 realms to see just what kind of magical creature Loki aka Chaos is going to show up as. Thor is hunting for him and so is Amy. Bohdi is not looking for Loki, but he wants to know more about himself. When the opportunity for inter realm travel presents itself with Amy as his guide to hunt for the Fates and find out more about himself, he gladly hops on to Thor's chariot. Amy may have different motivation for visiting the Fates but she is glad of the company.

Spiders, forest fires, killer insects and a whole lot more scary stuff later they manage to hitch a ride on a dragon to get to the Fates in the land of the Norns. What Bohdi suspects is confirmed, but he's in no mood for the six armed women or their charms. All he wants is to find out about his parents, but chaos rules and they have to make a quick escape from the furious Fates. Am I going to read the next story in the series? Hell yea!

Book Description

A beautiful blend of sweet, contemporary romance and women’s fiction, in the tradition of Debbie Macomber and Susan Mallery. Set against the backdrop of the Florida sun and a forgotten dinner theater, this novel is a companion to Book 1 in the Shellwater Key Tales series, Left Turn At Paradise, telling that story from another perspective…

Thirty years ago, desperation drove Elizabeth McCarthy to do the unthinkable when she abandoned her infant daughter, Layla, to the care of her mother. Now, after years of trying to outrun the memories and the guilt, Beth has come home to Shellwater Key to make amends. She has survived deadbeat relationships, becoming a single mother, and cancer, but now faces the most difficult battle of her life…finding a way to connect with the legendary mother she was never able to please…and earning the forgiveness of the daughter who has every reason to hate her. She might even have a chance to find the missing piece of her heart when Layla’s father arrives in town looking for answers.

Coming Home To Paradise is a powerful story of a woman who never felt like she was enough, despite being physically beautiful. It’s the story of a woman who has been broken by life, and by illness, and who now only wants to make things right. A story about discovering that it’s never too late to find true love…or more accurately…find the true love that slipped away.

Book Review

Why would a young teen mother leave her baby girl on the doorstep of the grandmother who had rejected her? The author takes us through the life of a troubled girl who is unable to live up to the reputation and expectations of her highly successful mother. Most mother daughter relationships are complex and multilayered and when you throw in a rebel girl who manages to get pregnant in school, well things are bound to take a nose dive. There is love, but there is angst. There is a second chance for Beth but only if she puts on her big girl panties and faces the mistakes that she has made in the past. She wants to make peace with her mother, get to know Layla her daughter and do what she can to help her. She is also grateful for the support of her aunt, who has literally helped all three generations.
This was the first book of the author that I have read. There was a great set of well defined characters who went though their own growth as the story progressed. I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. And I will honestly say that I enjoyed reading it.

When a dire situation develops and they have to save a little boy, Matt loses control of his tightly held emotions. Though his heart aches, Matt walks away, both for Gina’s safety and his own sanity. It’s up to Gina to convince him love can heal any heartache.

Book Review

Love doesn't belong with men like Matt. He's damaged goods, and he has no right to fantasise about a normal life with Gina. Doesn't stop him from longing for her and thinking about her for nearly four years before he actually decided to man up and talk to her. That's when he ends up banging into her and she ends up with a fracture! He's feeling guilty and wants to take care of her. She's trying to let him know its okay, but she does need some help.

As they spend time together and Gina discovers more about this silent and string survivor of child abuse, she begins to have strong feelings for him. Then she gets drawn into the ugly situation of the little boy next door going through his own private hell. Just as the abusive guardian is about to cause problems for them Matt steps in and saves them. He also decides to step right out of their lives. As they obviously need someone better than him.

Its a well written book about Matt fighting with his own inner demons while Gina makes up her own mind on the subject of love and relationships. A good read.

Masquerade by the Sea

 Book Description

After personal tragedy, Captain Jolie Gordon takes charge of the Masquerade, a fishing boat turned pleasure-cruiser. Jolie dreams of owning a successful business charter, but she is one pinion away from losing everything she’s invested. She’s got the summer to come up with enough money to buy a new engine and can’t afford any distractions.

Excruciating pain keeps Heath from trusting that he will ever be whole again. Opening her heart is a risk, but Jolie recognizes in Heath a kindred spirit, forced to rebuild after circumstances changed the planned course. They spend the steamy South Florida summer daring to love again, fearing that life does not always go according to plan.

Book Review

Jolie is free spirited, happy and has the life she loves. She is everything that Heath is not, or so he thinks in his misery. Is this going to affect their interactions? Very much, specially when he decided to take her up on the summer job to distract himself from the loneliness he is dreading now that his brother is moving away from Utah.

A temp bar tender's job seems to have more merit than simply sitting around waiting for a substitute job to start three months from now. They two have decided to spend a summer of love together and then Heath will step away back into his real life. Unfortunately love has a way of rearing its pretty head in places not expected.

Will the two of them manage to ends things on an even keel or is Jolie's happiness going to sink like the proverbial rudderless ship? Find out when you read this entertaining and well written novel.

KISS ME SANTA

Book Description

Widowed teacher, Cindy Harris, takes her son to meet Santa at the mall, but instead of jolly Saint Nick, they get grumpy Brad Williams. He’d stepped into the red suit to help out his brother, not promise the impossible, like deliver a daddy by Christmas. Brad is the new real estate agent Cindy hired to sell her family home, and sparks fly between them. Will the magic of Christmas open their hearts, and offer the best gift of all: love?

Book Review

I read this book as a part of the Ten Christmas Brides Boxed set, I had already written my review for that after reading the first four books. Its a great collection. Then I read this book, and it literally forced me to write a review! Brad and Cindy's romance was so sweet and so true to life. The grieving widow, who is making small decisions to cope with a big life change. The Santa in the mall filling in for his brother. The chance encounter in the mall followed by the second encounter at home. The story developed so beautifully. I totally loved it. The spirit of the festival season combined with the need for little Ty to have a father all come together so well. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Thin Rich Bitches

Book Description

An uproarious romp through the minefield of female one-upmanship!

Leaving her cheating husband in Boston with the paralegal he impregnated, Pippin Snowe and her son move to a ramshackle farmhouse in the exclusive community of Dover, Massachusetts. Pippin finds employment with a local architect, designing kitchen renovations for wealthy Dover women who treat her as they treat the rest of the hired help. Concluding that social climbing is just another sport that she is no good at, Pippin opens a country club for dogs that offers services that the Dover women didn't know they wanted until they found out that admission was required and spaces were limited.

With irreverent wit, Thin Rich Bitches is a humorous chronicle of one woman's quest to find her place within a community of people who are more blessed physically and financially, while learning valuable lessons about life, love, competition, and canine couture.

Book Review

I downloaded this book as it was free on one of my newsletters, and I am so glad I did. The author makes you laugh as she puts her main character through an absolutely life altering situation which would be full of stress and strife in the real world. It brings together a mother -son duo who move from their existing life post divorce to a new one in a rambling old house left to the mother by her dead aunt. The house brings with it its own share of problems including farm animals such as goats, and dogs who have had the run of he place, problem toilets and a barn which loses its roof in the middle of preparations for a major party.

Thoroughly enjoyed the antics of the formidable Pippin as she makes way for a career and finds friends in a town that is not exactly without its own quirks. Love the way everything worked out in the end with the biggest liability she owned turning into an amazing asset. If you enjoy books which make you think about ordinary things in a new light, you will enjoy this read.
