A Course in Weight Loss: 21 Spiritual Lessons for Surrendering Your Weight Forever

Book Description

If you are plagued by compulsive patterns of unwise eating, then this book is for you. In A Course in Weight Loss, best-selling author Marianne Williamson addresses the causal root of your weight-loss issues: a place within you where you have subconsciously forgotten your divine perfection. This forgetfulness has confused not only your mind but also your body, making you reach for that which cannot sustain you . . . and reject that which does. As your mind reclaims its spiritual intelligence, your body reclaims its natural intelligence as well. The 21 lessons in this book take you on a deep, sacred journey. One step at a time, you learn to shift your relationship with yourself—and your body—from one of fear to one of love. And you will begin to integrate the various parts of yourself—mind, body, and spirit—to become, once again, and in all ways, the beautiful and peaceful person you were created to be.

Book Review

This was a book on weight loss that did not ask you to exercise in a certain manner , eat a specific set of foods or even think yourself thin. It simply asked you to surrender your fear thinking and come from a loving space. It asks you to detoxify yourself in a spiritual manner and connect with Divine Wisdom.

The idea may seem a little radical to those die hard exercise fanatics and diet watchers, but it has some merit. Of course the mental attitude towards your weight needs to be adjusted, but some physical action is also a must. After all we are a combination of our physical bodies and our metaphysical soul, so both aspects need to be addressed for any sustainable weight loss.

The Laws of the Spirit World

Book Description

ON FEBRUARY 22, 1980, KHORSHED AND RUMI BHAVNAGRI’S WORLD WAS SHATTERED. ONE MONTH LATER, A NEW ONE OPENED.

Khorshed and Rumi Bhavnagri lost their sons, Vispi and Ratoo, in a tragic car crash. With both their sons gone, the couple felt they would not survive for long. They had lost all faith in God until a miraculous message from the Spirit World gave them hope and sent them on an incredible journey.

Book Review

The book is written by a process called Automatic Writing where the writer is given guidance from a spirit to write messages that are relevant to them. This book is Vispi and Ratoo's gift to their parents and the world written on Earth by Khorshed. It speaks of the seven realms of the spirit world where we end up guided by our subconscious mind. It tells us about our true purpose in life, the training, testing and growth that we are here to experience. There are a number of illustrative stories in the first part and spiritual discourses in the second half. If you are interested in spirituality, it will make for interesting reading even if you do not agree with concepts as explained in the book.

Get The Dalai Lama's Cat and the Art of Purring

Book Description

“What makes you purr? Of all the questions in the world, this is the most important. . . . . Because no matter whether you are a playful kitten or sedentary senior, whether you’re a scrawny alley Tom, or sleek-coated uptown girl, whatever your circumstances you just want to be happy. Not the kind of happy that comes and goes like a can of flaked tuna, but an enduring happiness. The deep down happiness that makes you purr from the heart.” His Holiness’s cat is back—older, a bit wiser, and as curious as ever.

In this book, the Dalai Lama sets for his lovable feline companion the task of investigating The Art of Purring. Whether it’s the humorous insights gained from a visiting Ivy League Psychology Professor, the extraordinary research of a world-famous biologist, or the life-changing revelations of a mystical yogi, His Holiness’s Cat encounters a wealth of wisdom about happiness. And what she discovers changes the way she sees herself forever. With a much loved—and growing—cast of characters from the local community and His Holiness’s residence, as well as encounters with intriguing strangers and celebrities from far and wide, The Dalai Lama’s Cat and the Art of Purring will transport readers in another unforgettable story.

Along the way they will come to understand how elements of contemporary science and Buddhism converge. And, once again, they will feel the warmth of compassion and nonattachment that radiate from the heart of the Dalai Lama’s teachings about our quest for enduring happiness.

Book Review

This is a book that takes the story of His Holiness's Cat( HHC) further. We learn more about the characters we were introduced to in the previous book and of course each one teaches us a lesson. When the Dalai Lama leaves for an extended teaching tour, little Snow Lion is left with the mission to find out what makes her purr! Serena, Sam, Franc, Sid, Lobstang, Chogyal and a whole slew of characters continue to live lives around HHC and learn from mistakes of the past. Somewhere along the story you manage to pick up a whole lot of heavy philosophy without even realizing it.

Beautifully written. Must read!

Book Description

This book uses the playful image of the Universe like a Cosmic Kitchen, just waiting to take and fulfil your orders by means of affirmations and visualizations. The eight principles for placing effective orders with the Cosmic Kitchen are applied to career, prosperity, relationships, health, travelling, and finding your perfect home.

It explains how to use the Law of Attraction and why affirmations together with feelings are the most powerful combination for achieving your dreams. The final chapters cover: why the Kitchen sometimes gives you lemons (negative experiences) and what to do when that happens, plus how your affirmations and visualizations can help solve the challenges our planet faces today.

Dr. Crane is an author, international workshop leader and speaker, and enthusiastic advocate for the ideas in her book. Her own personal journey to reduce stress, increase balance, and discover the meaning of life led her to read numerous books, attend many workshops, and test the concept of how we create our reality. In the process she manifested a wonderful relationship, a beautiful home on 7 acres, a career she loves, and abundant prosperity.

She shares her journey in this book, and sincerely wants to help you create the life you want. Her background in mind-body-spirit studies is extensive. She has given hundreds of talks and workshops on meditation, inner child work, stress management, the mind-body connection, and using affirmations and visualizations to create what you want in life. Her message is one of personal empowerment in co-creation with Spirit.

Book Review

If you buy only one book this year, make it this one. I have long been a fan of Louise Hay and Doreen Virtue, but now I love the practical tips that Patricia Crane gave to make the Law of Attraction a part of your daily life. The affirmations in the book are so simple and yet so powerful. If you could just focus on a few your whole life will be transformed.

Awesome read.
