Book Review

Teagan Becker is a video blogger who roams the world. She's come home for the holidays to help bake and salvage the family business. Her parents are abroad on a holiday to visit long lost relatives and shes been asked to step up for a change. She doesn't want the cookies business to go under and she needs help in the Becker Bakery to ensure she gets off all the orders on time. So she hires Riley McSorley to be her part time employee. She might as well, considering how much time he's spending hanging around.

Riley McSorley is the local high school music teacher. He's happy where he is and wanderlust never beckoned to him the way it does Teagan. As they work in the bakery to make sure all orders are baked and delivered in time, they discover that they have absolutely nothing in common, except for a strange attraction. Yes opposites do attract, but is this attraction enough for them to spend a rather unconventional life together? Teagan doesn't think so, Riley is really hoping so. So when you love someone that dearly, you set them free...

It's a beautiful story about how a woman is living her dreams and the man who loves her, but doesnt want her to give up one dream for a shared one with him. Traci Hall builds the two characters beautifully and I absolutely enjoyed the last bit of the climax which I'm not going to share. Almost wish the video blog was real. It was so entertaining.

Book Description

Cynical single gal Larissa has been to too many weddings. Nonetheless, when her friend Malena asks her to be a bridesmaid, she’s a good sport, despite the floor-length aqua satin nightmare she’s made to wear.
Larissa has given up on the idea of ever walking down the aisle herself. These days, her idea of a perfect Saturday night is more likely to involve wine and on-demand movies than high heels and a push-up bra.
Enter Mark, the bride’s sexy single brother who sees something special in Larissa. Mark, the one man who has Larissa considering breaking her “no wedding hookups” rule. But will they share a night of fun or something more? With plenty of champagne and the blissful romance of a wedding, true love might just blossom.

Book Review

Would you go to a wedding expecting to meet a guy who takes one look at you and wants to marry you? That's exactly what happens with Mark and Larissa. After being jilted by his fiancee who runs off with the caterer, he's not looking for someone serious, but the more he sees of Larissa, the more he's tempted to take things to the next level. Really fun short story.

Book Description

Josh Grady is a screwed up teen about to get another chance. After stealing a car, wrecking it in a terrible accident that puts his best friend in a coma, he is given a lucky break he's not sure he deserves. Instead of juvie, he's sent to Shining Star Boy's Ranch. Josh resents the rules, the counselors and the teachers, but most of all he hates the family atmosphere that reminds him of all he's lost. Journaling becomes an outlet that leads to self discovery. After many mistakes, Josh realizes that the hardest lesson of all to learn is forgiveness.

Book Review

This is a book that deals with some harsh realities. The main protagonist Josh is pretty much at the end of a rather long rope that he's been weaving to hang himself with. He's managed to get in to all kinds of trouble and as a last resort has been sent to Shining Star Boy's Ranch rather than juvenile prison.

Here he has a "family" of sorts that is rooting for him. Something he has no idea how to deal with. he's used to people blaming him, being angry at him and generally cussing him. He's not used to people trusting him, looking forward to his company and having faith in him. It's a beautiful story of self realization as Josh finally releases his anger and his angst to allow himself a new beginning in life.

Masquerade by the Sea

 Book Description

After personal tragedy, Captain Jolie Gordon takes charge of the Masquerade, a fishing boat turned pleasure-cruiser. Jolie dreams of owning a successful business charter, but she is one pinion away from losing everything she’s invested. She’s got the summer to come up with enough money to buy a new engine and can’t afford any distractions.

Ex ski instructor Heath Hamilton boards the Masquerade for his brother’s wedding party charter, angry at all he’s lost due to a random accident on the slopes. Excruciating pain keeps Heath from trusting that he will ever be whole again. Left with the pieces of who he used to be, nobody is more surprised than Heath when he accepts Jolie’s offered job as a bartender on the yacht for the summer.

Opening her heart is a risk, but Jolie recognizes in Heath a kindred spirit, forced to rebuild after circumstances changed the planned course. They spend the steamy South Florida summer daring to love again, fearing that life does not always go according to plan.

Book Review

Jolie is free spirited, happy and has the life she loves. She is everything that Heath is not, or so he thinks in his misery. Is this going to affect their interactions? Very much, specially when he decided to take her up on the summer job to distract himself from the loneliness he is dreading now that his brother is moving away from Utah.

A temp bar tender's job seems to have more merit than simply sitting around waiting for a substitute job to start three months from now. They two have decided to spend a summer of love together and then Heath will step away back into his real life. Unfortunately love has a way of rearing its pretty head in places not expected.

Will the two of them manage to ends things on an even keel or is Jolie's happiness going to sink like the proverbial rudderless ship? Find out when you read this entertaining and well written novel.
