Book Review

It would be a crime to label this book as just a romance novel. Donna has written a character so true to life that I could identify with her central character, Lauren beautifully. A woman who needs to be in charge as no one else will step up can become too independent. Sometimes it helps to let your man know that he is wanted even if he is not needed. The fact that failure is not always the worst thing that can happen to you is an important lesson. Its a beautiful read, and it may just give you a fresh perspective on what is truly important in life.

Finally the last book in this series. I have enjoyed reading all the books, but the first and the last book were really the best. Becca is studying to be a doctor, and there is time for nothing beyond her books. She would like to take things up with her best friend from childhood, Brian, but he doesn't seem to think of her as girl friend material. they seem to have been friends too long for it to change into something else.

Brian has been having different feelings for Becca, dreams that he thinks are wired. Little does he remember that they are actually images that his alcohol soaked brain has filtered from his one evening with Becca. But Becca never said a word, so they have to be dreams right? After all he can't possibly act on these new feelings and risk their precious friendship.

Book Review

Okay, I'm on a roll here. I read these books back to back and am swimming in Harper's Cross characters. Now that the four Sloan brothers have found their matches, its time for their cousins, and four Sloan girls to be hooked up with their better halves. Sorry if I'm sounding less than enthusiastic, but Haley is a hot chick, and Eddie is a single dad with loads of baggage. I just thought She could do better, but it does help tie up lose ends when these two characters match up.

The general fairly tale with Haley getting her dream line in the shop was good, the chemistry between the sisters was very interesting, but the ex fiancee showing up was not so cool. At times I want to shake Eddie to make him realize what a good thing he's got going at home with his baby sitter cum friend. Still eventually they do manage to get together, but the book was not as much fun as the ones that came before it.
